The Secret Of Happiness Poem by Paul Judges

The Secret Of Happiness

Rating: 5.0

I stumbled upon
the secret of happiness

a brief article
on the Internet

a lottery win
brings material wealth

but life is much more
than what you can get

cherish friends
and family

you’ll live
a few years longer

don’t forget
to show affection

it actually
makes you stronger

show kindness
like the Dalai Lama

he really knows
how to laugh

a good diet
and some exercise

followed by
a fragrant bath

every day, write
at least three things

that went well,
to be grateful for

spend hours
in the natural world

beyond your
locked front door

slow down, and
learn to relax

don’t burn out
by forty-three

forgive yourself
and that neighbour

and be happy
as just me

forgiving oneself - always one of the hardest things to accomplish successfully. This is an enjoyable, thoughtful read. Brought a grin here and there, in all the 'been there done that' areas. Well done. Bet a lot of ppl will be able to relate there and here and back again. Thanks for sharing. Keep Writing... -Rick
