The Sea Urge Poem by Paddy J. P. Harris

The Sea Urge

Rating: 5.0

I hear the echo of the sea
Within my mind and soul,
The constant murmur from afar
Unconquered ebb and flow.
Tended by nights pale sovereign
Beckoning from on high,
But subject to the lesser powers
Of Earth’s chaotic moods.

I close my eyes and leave but find
The sound comes from within.
I need not travel to the deep
To muse away the hours,
My blood does through me surge with force,
But cup your ears to know,
And with each sighing breath I hear
Lapping upon the shore.
