The Sea Poem by Walterrean Salley

The Sea

Rating: 5.0

At time she feeds the birds
And helps merchants on their way.
At times she opens up her heart,
Allowing man to play.

She houses amphibians and marine life.
We observe her calm side.
Her lunar attraction causes water levels
To swell well beyond their boundaries.
Her depth is unimaginable
With its many and well kept secrets.
She is fertile, daily giving birth to new life
In her deep-dark waters.

Though she sends out liquid nourishment
For the thirsty lands.
And solid perishables to feed the hungry,
She is volatile, and can be quite turbulent
When her demeanor changes.
She is the sea.

The sea, a source of so much goodness and at the same time a potential for so much danger. Majestic and huge, Awe inspiring. Beautiful poem
