The-Saurus... [words; Dinosaurs; John Westlake; Fun] Poem by Bri Edwards

The-Saurus... [words; Dinosaurs; John Westlake; Fun]

Paleontologists dig up, out of rock, many an ancient bone ….
once part of a dinosaur, a “lizard”……, which on Earth did roam …..
millions and millions of years ago ……………., OR (some do say) ….
thousands of years ago. Take your pick; have it “Your Way”!

Many of you have heard of the fearful Tyrannosaurus,
which would make most humans tremble if…. it stood before us,
breathing out a horrid hot stench of rotting flesh and blood.
[I think they all died off before Noah rode out “The Flood”.]

But, while T. Rex, it seems, walked on two hind legs (no pants) ,
Brontosaurus walked on four, and eschewed meat …… while it chewed plants.
I know not what sounds came forth from their beastly maws;
perhaps some roars, or screeches, or grunts, or hisses; I DOUBT guffaws.

Then, of course there is, on PoemHunter, Profanisaurus,
otherwise known as John Westlake. He composes great poems for us.

But perhaps known even better to many a writer...........,
is the Thesaurus. IT is neither a browser nor a fighter.
But it IS a 'belcher'. Yes, it’s a 'belcher' of synonyms ….., and, at times, antonyms,
which might inform us “writers” that songs are sometimes called ……. hymns!

Sure glad for your qualification my friend. Hard to imagine you writing a song that could ever be mistaken for a hymn Thank god for ' sometimes, ' So whose pizza do you really think is best. How about a critical commentary? Ha!

Very clever. I enjoyed reading it. Now you've got me curious. I don't think I've ever read any of John Westlake's poems. I will have to read some.
