The Sand Clock Poem by Vera Sidhwa

The Sand Clock

The Sand Clock

I turned upside down,
The pouring sand clock.
It told me it was going forward with time.
It said time was running out,
As I turned it upside down.

I sought time to slow down.
I sought time to speed up,
But measured time went it's own way,
It's own way.

I couldn't stop time altogether,
And couldn't push it fast a measure,
So I decided the fault was in me.
I had to take one day at a time,
You see.
