The Rough Hewn Face Of God Poem by GREENWOLFE 1962

The Rough Hewn Face Of God

Rating: 5.0

There's nothing like a camping fire
To warm your heart each day.
And make a man feel right at home,
Though it's so far away.

There's nothing like a forest glen
Just at the break of dawn.
To give a man a little hope
Whenever it seems gone.

There's nothing like a mountain stream
As glistening waters flow.
To help a man remember things
Forgotten, long ago.

There's nothing like a quiet lake
To help you find relief;
When having lost a special friend,
You're overcome with grief.

There's one more thing that's on my list
Of things men can misplace,
And often find out in the woods
Placed there by Heaven's grace.

It's what men might see anywhere,
And that's what's oh so odd.
They seem to see it only there,
The Rough Hewn Face Of God.

Thanks for reminding me of great beauty, the quiet lake, forest glen, the mountain stream... I've been stuck inside (work and home) forever.
