The Roads Once Taken Poem by Rajesh Thankappan

The Roads Once Taken

Rating: 5.0

Lost in the chaotic traffic of life
With roads merging and branching everywhere,
I fail to take note of the tracks
That has conveyed me thus so far.

So in ignorance I turn left
Hoping that the choice made was the best,
A little later I took to the right
Praying that my chances are still bright.

I walked on and on to reach somewhere
But much to my dismay discovered it was nowhere,
I now realize the importance of keeping a watch on our tracks
So that at the end of the day our legs simply don't collapse.

Thank you very much for coming up with such a wonderful piece of poetry. The journey of life through unknown path has been explained in an interesting manner. The opening lines set the trend: Lost in the chaotic traffic of life With roads merging and branching everywhere,

A poem of wisdom.Life is a composition of rough and even roads and most of us do not know to choose the right path. Our experience teaches us the reality of life.A great thought shared by a great poet.

This is a wise poem and a good life-lesson; although debatable, as life itself is unpredictable and it can unfurl before us paths we could not even imagine; yet, a good estimation of the previous path, stands as a landmark and a method of comparison. A thoughtful write.

A Meaningful write. We take many decision in our life, some we may take based on our experience, while some we may get confused to choose and we follow what we feel right at the moment. Not necessary each decision we take is right or wrong. It is very difficult to draw a line on right or wrong. Some may feel it was right, while the same decision some may feel wrong. Mostly after seeing the outcome of roads we choose, decides whether we were on right track or not. To be frank, let me tell by my experience, every road is right and wrong, there is no perfect road as we dream off. Even a small branch of road we miss, a lot of difference we may make. Beautiful presentation. Loved reading it.

Each decision taken in life is important! Though we cannot always come to the right decisions, before taking a crucial turn, we have to weigh all possibilities, sometimes consult with others or depend on our own intuition...! Any way after taking a rash turn, it is not easy to retrace our steps! A very wise thought in a beautiful poem!
