The Road Poem by Juan Olivarez

The Road

Rating: 5.0

This is the road I travel,
It winds away,
In the distance,
In front of me.

The wind blows the sand,
Into my face,
Into my ears,
Into my nose,
Even into my underwear.

This is the road I travel,
A dry sandy road,
With all kinds of pitfalls,
All kinds of rocks,
To stumble on.

I think I see the end,
Over the hill,
Where the sky,
Meets the land,

The end of the road,
The road of life.
