That lonely tree Jarul(জারুল)
Standing as a witness of the century
In the crop less nude field
Near to his feet
New tidal waves come down
at the young Hari(হরি) River
Leaving the impression of simplicity
On her outskirts
Life mingled with the distant cemetery
Afar in the bend of dream
without boatman a lonely boat
Maybe waiting for someone
who is attracted by
the downstream song


হরি নদ
...........
ফসলহীন উলঙ্গ মাঠে
একাকী শতাব্দীর সাক্ষী হয়ে
যে জারুল গাছটা দাঁড়িয়ে
তারই কোল ঘেঁষে
সরলতার ছাপ রেখে
তরুণ হরি নদে এলো
নতুন জোয়ারের ডেউ
তারই অদূরে মিলে গেছে জীবন
দূরবর্তী শ্বশানে
দূরে স্বপ্নের বাঁকে
মাঝিহীন একাকী নৌকা
হয়তো কাহারো অপেক্ষায়
যে কিনা ভাটির গানের টানে
