The River Poem by John Bannister Tabb

The River

Rating: 5.0

How far soe'er thy restless waters roll,
Thou hast attained the sea.
So haply, now the current of the soul
Hath touched eternity.

For backward to the fountainhead there flows
A breath of tides to be-
Of life beyond, wherein the present knows
E'en now its destiny.
