The Right To Love! Poem by Eric Cockrell

The Right To Love!

she's in love
with another woman...
they've been in love

for years.... life companions,
they complete each other.....
they have the right to love!

a hard working young man,
he loves another young man.
he makes him feel alive!

working together for a dream,
they find home in each other...
they have the right to love!

the young white student,
works a job while studying
for his degree...

he loves a dark skinned girl,
the most beautiful girl in the world.
they can talk, they can touch....

they have the right to love!

It's nice to see some form of acceptance, in a world of hate. It's because of people like the person that was written the comment below, that so many young LGBTQ kids commit suicide and are afraid to be themselves for fear of their life, and fear of ridicule. Great poetry, I love this one.

Mr.EricYou've put on a cloak of the love legislator but you do not mix unisexual love in the third case.... That that 'the young white student, loves a dark skinned girl, ' about it do not argue at all... But do not caress lawless love which is not approved by any god... Ts.

It really touches the heart of the problem I really like the pithyness of it. I think it hit a chord with me Thanks
