The Reward Poem by Spiros Zafiris

The Reward

seeking reward for his actions,
he waited not to thank the stars;
the all-knowing, open secrets

greedy and manly,
his eyes anticipated her smile
then, he reflected momentarily
and smiled in dear sorrow

why meddle with wonders
when their secrets are an open book
a simple smile their way
is the most gracious way to show your gratitude
