The Remarkable Statue Poem by Christina Ramirez

The Remarkable Statue

A statue of different sorts common to the world
Remarkable to the eyes of his own
Untarnished in the sun
A bucket of tears one could not destroy
Though the silence of a killer creeps by his core
His strength is hidden within the pores of his life
And the weakness which is of his love
Though never before seen
His loyalty compensates for his weakest link
A legacy that will never be forgotten though the breath keeps the mirror blurred
The mysterious mind of someone you hardly know creeping beside you
Silently, keeping the voice within continuous
Dare to speak the unspoken
Killed by the breaths sucked in deep
And later released as an excuse
An intimidation spoken through the eyes of the beholder
Makes for a better person
A Remarkable Statue leaned on throughout the years
Has seen tarnish and stones
Rain and Suffering
But continues to remain strong for his followers
Leading them to their lives
Pointing them in two different directions
Praying that we chose correctly
But fate moves mysteriously around us
Leaving us two steps behind then before
Causing us to challenge the unseen
To believe in something we can not touch nor see
And to pray that The Remarkable Statue, the center of our garden is never removed.
