The Relationship Ends Poem by Gamaliel Scipio

The Relationship Ends

Like thunder
heard rolling
through the clouds
Enraged voice
echoed
familiar sounds
ringing through

'Enough of this'
I can do better
No time to waste
Am moving on

Forgetting
all once said
to that same
person
With whom
Great promises
were made

Without whom
You said
Better off, dead
knowing
that many
sang that song
They all went
on their way
Convinced
that for you
Better will
ring true

Promises
of a brighter day
No longer
that person
to stand in
your way
the one to whom
you vowed
Life would share
time to run away
Suddenly
wanting no reminders
of past love

Forgetting
many before tried
all ended up
dead wrong
When push came
to shove
grass now
looking greener
will prove
only a mirage
of what awaits
on the other side

Love is always
a work in progress
Not creating for
another
delusions, regrets
no days off
no rest
The effort comes
only after
one has tried
aced the test

There is that
which is truth
There is another
that is a lie
If that horse
not moving
Only fools are
caught
trying to ride.
A rolling stone
Gathers, no moss.
Unaware?
Then in your game
You lost.
Love is never
the reason

The relationship ends.
