The Recluse Poem by Miles Ayres

The Recluse

Silence is deafening as i sit wallowed in sorrow.
I searched for yesterday but found only the path of tomorrow,
Trying to hold on to something now so obscure and foreign.
It's much less afflicting living a life hollow, reclusive, and boring.
Paralyzing, Haunting how cruelty changes one's heart.
Disturbing, sickening, how in time, everything crumbles and falls apart.

I'd love to tell you, tell you i'm the same.
Sadly like me, most change when lost in the game.
This isolation is all that i now know.
Any emotion, i dig deep and try to show,
But no...

Humanity the criminal who's stolen my soul, He broke me & all that I dream
A few frozen tears thaw and drip, down my icey face, three drops stream.
Everyone tells me i'm resentful, despairing, withdrawn from Society
But you'd be too if you had to take pills for anxiety.
I'll invite you inside, in hopes you'll understand
that the weight on my shoulders bears to much to withstand.

I'd love to tell you, tell you i'm the same.
Sadly like me, most change when lost in the game.
This isolation is all that i now know.
Any emotion, i dig deep and try to show,
But no...
