The Recipe Poem by Junior Holganza

The Recipe

You awoke from your sleep
My heart thudding as you suddenly weep
The sudden thoughts crash through my head
As I lay frozen in my bed

You need this to get well
From the past you still dwell
You're a master at this recipe
First thing you think when your eyes are able to see

Your body craves with delight as such
A hunger striker for a week wouldn't beg as much
You have now been fed happy and satisfied
I can now hold you without much implied

How do I make a better meal
That the last one you can finally seal
One not found in a glorious field
But something I have perfectly reeled

As you slowly delve from this temptation
I am nervous in anticipation
As you slowly run out of your grocery
I am afraid of what you might do so remorsefully

Choices are made and cycles happen
Your body's the ship and you it's captain
Understanding fully is an expensive choice
Something that I will never ever invoice

Even you seducing me to the idea I will not go
Is one of the only things I will say no
I want you to someday use a Euro
To shed you way from this painful sorrow

I gave in several times to one of your other favorite recipes
For hours and hours of delightful talking sprees
A fun night each and every time
Slowly my feelings go sublime

I admit the only reason I like your other recipe
I learn more, talk and be closer to you with glee
Guilt has come I will never want to be the reason
As delightful as your other recipe I will not commit treason

Your original recipe I will help make a new one
You're tired of this recipe you thought you have won
This is the last time you will make this meal
After all this time it is too real

The thought of this someday being the death of you
Is stronger than feeling the bluest of blue
My love I hope you feel it too
Please think of our little ones someday which will not be few
