The Reaper Poem by Michael Koelliker

The Reaper

Rating: 3.3

She comes riding the brightest shadows
The thrice raps on your door bring her
She is here to take a soul for God
Don't Run, Don't Hide, Don't Fear
The Reaper

She wanders calmly throughout the night
She is a Holy messenger of God's Will
Bringing souls to eternal judgment
Upon the Scales of Archangel Michael
Don't Run, Don't Hide, Don't Fear
The Reaper

She calls your name awaiting your arrival
Her Scythe in right your soul in left
She lifts you toward the moonlit sky
Her twelve wings flap into the Sea of Heaven
Don't Run, Don't Hide, Don't Fear
The Reaper

One usually things of the Reaper as an unattractive old man to be feared and avoided at all costs. Here, you paint a comforting vision for me of a soft, caring immortal woman who is misjudged and only wants to bring peace to those nearing the end. Phenomenal!
