The Real Me Poem by Rosalyn Grohol

The Real Me

She was stuck inside a maze, with no way out
Kept jumping in the water, knowing she would only drown
She tucks the pain away, and says that she's alright
When she's been crying herself, to sleep every night
And all the words she wants to say, remain unspoken
She used to believe in love, until her heart was broken
So she locked her heart up, and threw away the key
Saying if love really exists, it will come back to me
Forgot how to feel, pushed her feelings far away
She wants to open up her heart, and she'll admit that she's afraid
The girl I am, ain't the girl I pretend to be
That's the girl that comes around, to hide my insecurities
