The Rain Poem by ruby cunningham

The Rain

We met in the park when we were teens
you with your blue eyes and jeans
laughing and talking the hours away
each wanting the other to stay
gazing into your eyes and you into mine
it felt we had known each other
through all of time
you kissed me then as it started to rain

The warm summmer rain upon my skin
flames my desires here within
the passionate touch of your fingertips
makes me burn for the taste of your lips
This is where we got our start
you and i meeting heart to heart
Sometimes in the grass we lay
and feel the heat as it starts to rain
