The Raiders From Across The Sea Poem by Tim Vallie

The Raiders From Across The Sea

Rating: 5.0

They rode upon a Dragon's back
These men from 'cross the sea
Our villages burned, cities sacked
They slaughtered mercilessly
With spear and shield, axe and sword
They cut our warriors down
Marching across our lands, a demon horde
Bringing death from town to town
Our Kings paid tribute on bended knee
Lords bowed before their ranks
Our warriors cut down violently
In our fields the bodies stank
Like the legends of Dragons old
They burned, and killed with glee
Then they returned with all our gold
To their hoards across the sea
These Norsemen who fight like devils
Who kill with a lust for gore
In death and doom did they revel
Always questing for more, and more
They wore no horns upon their heads
But their rage seemed demon-born
Their approach brought terror, dread
Signaled by blowing war-horns
Our villages burned, our cities sacked
By these men from 'cross the sea
Who rode upon a Dragon's back
And slaughtered mercilessly.
