The Question You Ask Me Poem by Surjyajeevan Yumnam

The Question You Ask Me

We born and die,
We love and hate,
We care and snub,
We learn and forget,
We make friends and foes.

But we never know
Why we die?
Why we hate?
Why we ignore?
Why we forget?
Why we make foes?

Thy die, to born again.
Thy hate, to know what love is.
Thy snub, to differentiate other from you.
Thy forget, to carry on life.
Thy have foes, to know what friendship really mean.
