The Quest Poem by Job Laz

The Quest

In misery we’ve searched
Looking into every corner,
For that light stand that was taken from us
In every path we’ve walked,
Seeking diligently,
Praying fervently,
That it be found

In springtime,
In winter, we waited
For that grand birth of heroes
Who lead the way to my childhood dreams?
My youthful wishes,

In trepidation,
In desperation we wait still
For the procession of our warriors
Who will hold the sword and spear mightily,
Who will fight for the right cause?
The craving for our hearts,
The proclamations of our lips,

Yet the quest of our fathers,
Gone gracefully beyond with wrinkling faces,
And gray smiles.
