The Published Poets Versus The Self-Published Poets Poem by Hebert Logerie

The Published Poets Versus The Self-Published Poets

"What can't they get along? "
Said, a famous tortured Black man.
Why can't they sing the same song?
What a shame! What an omen!
The Poets are quarrelling over published literary works.
They are using, as deadly weapons, pens and forks.
The silly gods must be laughing profusely.
How sad! This is unbelievably crazy.
They are not bickering over verses and rhymes.
They are wasting their sweet and precious times
Over how the words were published, and by whom.
This is freaky, ‘cause they are doomed not to bloom.
The peasants and the paupers will ridicule them,
And the punks wish that they'd fall in a hellish dam.
Why can't they get along?
Why can't they sing the same song?
The public is fed up. The children are laughing.
All of the poets lost; however, the sun did not stop shining.
Last night, the prizes were awarded in secret,
And all of the winners appeared in silhouette.
