The Proper Use Of Control Poem by Emma Beverage

The Proper Use Of Control

Every thought and action
is a step towards creating
Paradise, here, now!

Or

It is a step towards
reinforcing and maintaining
the status quo.
This hell that we call reality.

The old and familiar
is known and comfortable.
Am I brave enough to “experiment”
with the unknown?
The unknown can be scary as hell!

Do I have the courage to change my world?
Am I brave enough to help to birth
another evolution in our species?

What better environment
to experiment with than in my family?
Among those whose love should be
given unconditionally.

I own transformation
by having faith in my “Higher Power” and,
having the courage to face my fears.

The bravest thing I have ever done
was to face my own fears.
This brought about my
most powerful transformation to date.
For I am still learning, growing and transforming.
The time for Change is at hand.

“Let go and let God”
“It works if you work it.”
“When one door closes, another door opens.”
“It isn’t courage if you do not feel fear.”

It is my life, my body, my mind,
my heart and soul.
I have the courage to apply
The proper use of control.

Control of self, rather than control of another.
