The Professor Poem by Thobile Masondo

The Professor

Rating: 5.0

A wealth of knowledge,
An abundance of wisdom,
A heart full of passion,
A gift of healing hands,
I saw it all in him

He is a treasure walking amongst us,
An unsung hero bringing hope to the desperate,
A prospector searching for knowledge to enrich the lives of the meek,
A gift from the eternal man mandated to embrace the gift of life,
He is the Professor

The scar across my neck displays his talents,
It reminds me of the sanity once lost,
It emboldens the appreciation of life,
It showcases the competence of his hands,
He is the Professor that gave me a chance

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem is dedicated to Professor John Robbs, who performed a carotid bypass operation for me. At times we do not appreciate the work doctors do and I don't think they also realize the impact of their work on a patient's life. It is hard for me to believe that a human being performed this operation that is making me feel like, i've been given a second chance due to the peace I feel living my life without the frightening symptoms that threatened my life daily for many years. He will always be my hero. I pray the good lord blesses him and his family and gives him long life and good health so he can continue doing the good work that he does.

a good poem on professors! Some professors are very hard to forget and they are the inspirations how to live our life, but in your poem you have described how a professor had saved your life. Nice poem!
