The Principle Poem by Mohammad Ilyas

The Principle

Omar, The Great Caliph was aware
of a man having some sexual affair

The Caliph himself started to try
on him like a spy he kept an eye

Once a female got into his home
time was given to meet in the dome

The Caliph brave, sturdy and tall
entered his home, climbing the wall

he rushed into, and opened the room
the man was red handed with the bloom

he said, with the sin you are caught
for to be stoned, you will be brought

the man replied, being a Caliph thee
I made a mistake and you made three

I just wanted extinguished, my body fire
and to come up with my sexual desire

firstly, you followed me, were spiteful
now you decide whether you are rightful

secondly, without knocking the door
without permission, you reached my floor

Thirdly, you broke into my private
I could be in any shape with any mate

Omar kept silent, without a blame
returned and years after met the same

He smiled in the occassion, embraced him
reminded in ear, the night he traced him

'From all the folks I shun and hid that'
the man said, 'I also never again did that'.
