The Price You Paid Poem by Aric Beers

The Price You Paid

There you are up above
Sending down mercy and love
You sit on high on your throne
In creation your greatness is shone

Yet here we are sinners all
Everyday we live and we fall
And somehow you love us the same
You took the fall though we are to blame

You came down to earth and gave up your life
That we we might be free from sin and strife
You gave of yourself when it should've been me
It should've been me to pay for what you see

For my crimes I should've payed
In heaven you should've stayed
You didn't deserve to die on that cross
It should've been me who took the loss

Yet for reasons unknown you took the fall
All you ask is that we answer your call
To come and live in the way you made
To honor you and the price you payed

So here I am, take all of me
Make me who you want me to be
I'm following you where you go
And I'll tell of the love you show
