The Pottery Poem by Marieta Maglas

The Pottery

Rating: 5.0

In the common clay,
Transformed by modeling
I imprison my idea.
Every time you pass,
You stop to look
For a moment,
At my art objects,
Delicately modeled in shape.
They gain color in light.

Many potters expose objects
In that place,
But you know which are mine,
Even without my signature,
I think only of you
When I make them appear real.

Nice. We are molded in the hands of the Great potter! Praise the Lord.

This poem conveys in a beautiful and profound way the idea that an act of creation makes an unique imprint in the created object in such a way that the creator always will be recognized by the beholder. '.....for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? ....' (KJB Isaiah 29: 16)

In the common clay, that was transformed by modeling with the movement of my hands, I imprison my idea, that you perceive every time you stop for a moment, to look at the art objects, delicately modeled in shape, which gains color in light. .............
