The Potential For Goodness Poem by Francis Duggan

The Potential For Goodness

Rating: 5.0

The potential for goodness is in all of Humankind
And in the very worst person some good traits you'll find
It is just that something in their thinking in some way has gone wrong
And some human frailty is even found in the mentally strong.

The child of the slums has to battle the odds
He is one of the children of the lesser gods
From the day he is born until his last day
His journey through life uphill all of the way.

The greatest of heroes and heroines have some human flaw
And everyone in some way have broken some law
Some law of their god and some law made by man
By everyone broken in their life span.

Before we walked we had to learn how to crawl
And our greatest achievement in life seem so small
And though the potential for goodness it is in us all
The hero and the villian to the Reaper must fall.
