The Poesy Goddess Poem by Francis Duggan

The Poesy Goddess

The days of the rhymer long over and gone
But the Goddess of poesy as ever lives on
She inspires the poets of the twenty first century
To write poems that are born to immortality
The crickets in the stonewall are singing again
And an overcast sky does seem pregnant with rain
And the house sparrows chirping in the morning gray
My Goddess of Poesy how are you today
At her desk by the window in the warmth of her room
The young poetess in the prime of her poetic bloom
Inspired by the sounds and sights she hear and see
The Muse Goddess inspires her to write great poetry
She is the inspiration of poets everywhere
The Poesy Goddess of the big World out there.
