The Poems Repeat Themselves Poem by Shalom Freedman

The Poems Repeat Themselves

THE POEMS REPEAT THEMSELVES

The poems repeat themselves
And I become a burden to myself-

I cannot escape
I am only all that I am
And that is not enough-

The poems repeat themselves
I repeat myself-

And what was of small and questionable value once
Now seems of no value at all-

The poems repeat themselves
And I am stuck in who I am
And this is where I am now.
