The Pleasure Of Knowing You Poem by John A. Hancock

The Pleasure Of Knowing You

The river sweetly sang to me
An enchanting song I long'd to hear
Urging the sleeping forest to awaken
Calling forth all the wild flowers to appear
Lull'd to the shore I paused to listen
Basking beneath spring time's golden rays
Lazily in a peacful slumber I dozed
Whilst upon the sun warm'd sand I lay

I dreamt I stood abreast a row of pictures
Each canvas bore the image of those I hold so dear
Who gave me support and understanding
Deeply humbled I shed my grateful tears
May God bless and always keep you
I'll pray good fortune follows you each day thru
And believe me how truly thankful I am
Just for the pleasure of knowing you
