The Passing Poem by Theodora (Theo) Onken

The Passing

Rating: 5.0

It was a cold day in May
Filled with fugitives of another time
Offering up history to repeat itself
I can still hear the sorrowful music
As the waves played their somber notes
Upon the shore
With tears of the dawn awakening all
The suffering of before

It was much like a countdown to another ending
Much like the November of seven years past
Back when the Autumn took another beloved
Into Puget Sound - the ashes were cast

November & May still have their unforgiving sting
With unfathomable pain still in this heart
Time does not ever ease these return dates
For the truth continues to tear me apart

Am left with the memories- i was closest to you- still remember- spending time with you at Belfair, and Centraila, and even at your home on Waldrip the year my dad died. Would give anything to hear from you again. Need to know how you are, and Nickell, too. I assume that you are still married to Donna!
