The Party's Over Poem by Linda Ori

The Party's Over

Rating: 3.5

The party's over,
The wine is gone,
This awful headache
Arrived with the dawn;

'Twas fun while it lasted,
A banquet sublime -
But now that it's ending
I'm dreading the time;

No more conversations,
No more wars to fight,
No more tender make-ups
Long into the night;

And oh, how I'll miss you
And all that you are -
In such a short distance
We've journeyed so far;

My soul will stay with you
From now 'til the end -
This bond can't be broken..........
I luv ya, my friend!

Linda, this is the first time I gladly check your poems and this one is the one that really caught my immediate attention because I went through that stage of my life and fortunately I survived. It is really hard to say goodbye but a choice must be made one way or another in order to move on. We can't remain handcuffed to the past, we must try to find the key to set ourselves free and move one! This is an excellent, well penned and poignant write, Linda that really moved me! 10+++ Keep inspiring the World. Love and Peace for always! (If time permits, please read and enjoy my poem titled: IN PURSUIT OF HAPPINES.)

It's a tough stage to be passing through, but there was something quite strong sounding in these sorrowful words! ! But, no matter how tough we are, letting go is always hard - especially if we love deeply. Very well composed poem as always Linda- even in the midst of deep pain you didn't let your craft slip.

Linda, though relationships end, the bond always remains... friendship is certainly the maturist way to move on. Great write! !

It is a strangling feeling when the party is over and all you are left with is the headache and the clearing up Linda! For me anyway, and you describe it's aftermath so well. Your final verse is the cherry on the only piece of floor showing that love of a good friend gets us through to the end! Tai
