The Pact Poem by Asma Khan

The Pact

I said to him,
I can't ask
I don't bear any mask
I live in by pushing away the cask
Though life has put me on a bask
it's an unending task

I said to them,
I don't worry
I fold all problems and have them bury
The memories are all blurry
so don't tell me to hurry
The time will stir in scurry

I said to you,
I will wait
till the time puts you in my plate
My dreams are not at a stake
Loving you was never a mistake
so I will not fish bait
feelings are something can't make up to state

I said to her,
I don't forget
for, I remember to pay for each debt
So death is coming my way but not yet
Life is a balance to give and get
