The Open Gate Poem by ANDREW BLAKEMORE

The Open Gate

Rating: 5.0

A way to find my love again
To rid me of my endless pain
And give me shelter from the rain
There stands the open gate.

A way to walk through meadows green
And see the hills that stand serene
To visit lands I've never seen
There stands the open gate.

A way to leave this smoky town
Where all my hope did sadly drown
Far from the life that dragged me down
There stands the open gate.

A way to leave my misery
And fnd a place I can be free
To live in peace and harmony
There stands the open gate.

Andrew a lovely poem, we always have opportunities, if we look we'll always find an open gate. Bob 10++

This poem of yours read so well, the rhythm, the rhyme all perfect! I often spy my open gate but fearful of being let through, I slam it shut again..... Please come and read some of my poems too...well only if you've time. Ruth

'Charmed magic casements opening on the foams, Of perilous seas In fairy land forlorn.' Keats Andrew, The flood gates of imagination take you on a voyage to the infinite. CP

Greener on the other side perhaps, perhaps not. Lovely poem and well constructed and produced. We all need an open gate in our minds through which we can escape from the day to day decisions and worries. Love and hugs Ernestine XXX

Heaven like hills and meadows sure give relief against pain! Carry on and enjoy freedom there!
