The Only Sure Thing In Life Poem by George Bernard Hough

The Only Sure Thing In Life

Rating: 5.0

Late at night or early morn
there is a chance you could be born
Teenage years with all its fears
you may survive, but with some tears.
Now your` a man your` youth is done,
that magic birthday Twenty One
A love you seek, and you may find,
a partner who will share your` mind.
With luck you`ll see your` offspring grow
through summer heat and winter snow.
And later life may bring to you,
grandchildren who will see you through
your` ageing years, with happy smiles,
as you share their little whiles.
The only certain thing in life,
after bearing fun and strife,
as sure as birds fly in the sky,
the time will come when you must die.
