The One Night Stand Poem by Robert Trew

The One Night Stand

I remember the rain, with you I stay sane,
A long walk they said, but we wanted to talk,
The journey home, for once, I wasn't alone,
Cold dark of the night, made sure I held you tight,
Start of a storm; take my jacket, I kept you warm,
Hear the thunder, is this love? I began to wonder.

I stall at the front door, come in, are you sure?
Im in your room, I'll chill, you'll be in soon.
You made me wait, you walk in, I took the bait
You're almost fully bare; my eyes can't help to stare.

Im out of my head, we hop in the warm bed
All of a sudden a kiss, a true moment of pure bliss
Already I feel the nerves as I feel your curves
We fired like a gunshot, everything suddenly turned hot.

Soon came the morning, you left with no warning,
The early sunbeam, wondering if it was a dream,
I could run a mile, if I have to, to see you smile
Will I see you again? Will you return?

I remember the rain, without you, I go insane,
A long walk they still say, just no one to talk,
The journey home, with out you, I am all alone,
Cold dark of the night, only my self to hold tight
Start of a storm, without you, who to keep warm?
Hear the thunder, was it love? I began to wonder?
