The Old Year Is Going Poem by Tony Adah

The Old Year Is Going

The year filled our mouths
With spoons of rice and glasses of wines
And stood behind us bidding us bye
Its night crawled
In the wintry winds
And we defiant of the cold
Frolick and howl and yearn for
The new year to come
In a frenzy of fireworks only
To see same sun
Rising from the east
And feebly wobbling down
The horizon in the west.
