The Old Scripures Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

The Old Scripures

The ancestors left behind
For us to find
Rich heritage
That was all on leaves and copper plates

If one believes in wisdom
It was done with full freedom
With royal patronage
Reflecting the life of people, king and sage

It still exists before us
It provides boost to our trust
Raises respect for old scriptures
For generations to read in future

We are still tolerant society
And tolerate criticism about almighty
Other followers tolerate no word
If it is aimed at their lord

So it is all personal belief
And must be followed if provides relief
Grants mental satisfaction
And strengthen the relation

I come across
Who try to profess?
And insist for acceptance of their God
“I believe in one God” but not so far what you have told
