The Old Man Chant Poem by Sunday Igwebuike

The Old Man Chant

(1) Jokes are fun, But should not be taken too far! (2) As you harvest your corn, See to it that those, That would have harvested, But were unable by circumstance, Are given as much, And you will be blessed! (3) The man who allows his doors, To be opened, To all manners of persons, Should be careful, Else he is finished!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
It is a form of oral literature where in this stance an old man is addressing an audience real or imagined. The important thing is to learn the lessons and cultivate the wisdom in it. It would give us a new understanding to our sense of life and add a new zeal and impetus to our living.
