The Old Man Chant (2) Poem by Sunday Igwebuike

The Old Man Chant (2)

(1) An orphan has one thing left for him, his good deeds that shall soon find him a home. When the tide is against you, continue the struggle, it is just for that moment, besides a friendly tide is on the way. (2) It is quite easy to detect an infiltrator among the rank and file. His oft counter strategy and frequent excuses would expose him. (3) The man who is serving the community should bear in mind, that his wife is also part of the community. He should know that she is needing a new bag so soon. For a woman's bag is like the rudder that steers the big ship. (4) It is not an offence before God and man not to have a child of one's own. The trouble is what you are not doing for those already born. We are all part of humanity. A child well taken care of, most often, do better than biological sons and daughters.
