The Old Clouds Of October Poem by SJ. Sharkey

The Old Clouds Of October

You thought October's forecast would hold you down forever
But you stomped through fallen leaves in the shape of broken hearts
And the smells of the free blind your love with sparkling sirens
And you touch the hidden landscapes with lies of every colour

So you see a lover's body
Floating through the black lies
And their singing makes your heart ache
Until rainbows hide the sky

Then when your white lies reach them
They smother you with their love
Ripping deserved ripples
Through the lying in your heart

Their name holds so much meaning
Now their heart is fuelled by fire
Now you know you'll never leave them
Though you reach for the hidden
With the rainbows all around you
