The Ocean Poem by Henrietta Smith

The Ocean

I watched the sea drift onto the side of my boat
It was cold when i put my foot in,
well, we were in cornwall i suppose,
but i felt like my baby toe was about to dropp off,
but steve beconed me in
so i braced my body and

drop
spash

in the water i was
it was so wet and cold
oh water
why do you have to be like that
steve held me close
and we sang old cornish folk tunes
till the sun went down
then we realised our boat was gone
so we had to swim back to shore
freezing i shiverd
but steve held me close
and we sang again
but this time nursery rhymes
and the water was now our friend
it was a peaceful paradice
i was happy
