The Next Door Poem by Yewande Adedokun

The Next Door

Rating: 5.0

The sunsets on my soul
And the sheets on which I lie remains unfold
Seem like a million years about a story untold
This feelings I feel alone.

The thoughts of you meant to heal me, instead it hurts
A lone battle I fight within me, Am sour
Would have thought I was strong
But here, I am with all slipping through the door

Let this day be a memory made
Let my words be such you cannot erase
Let tonight be my long await

Today, my soul sleeps awake
I love you alone, this I hate
Sing to me not to feel the pain
Is anybody out there? I stand in the rain
It feels like a door of love I have been locked against
Till I become ripe for the black and white lines, this song I will sing again.

It can be hard if you love someone so much. But you can live in hope that their feelings will change. A great poem.
