The Newly Wed Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

The Newly Wed

The newly wed

Only yesterday I saw you;
Blushing in bridal attire,
Bedecked with jewels and flowers,
Young heart dancing
With dreams of life anew,
Silent sparkling eyes
Speaking a lot of you,
Sunshine of morning sky
Unfurling new-born love,
Illuming me and my sky
With gay and golden rays,
Young tender smiles
Beckoning me to you beside,
To see and love you,
And find a way into you,
I wish, in your heart,
And in your soul I abide,
For in a moment
We will be one in two bodies,
And be called man and wife,
Loving and dwelling
Beneath love’s radiant sky,
While the world’s grief and strife,
Like a nightmare quietly pass by……..
