The New You Poem by Morgan Bodden

The New You

The darkness of the dark
is coming with the hate of a million dead
a rush of emotion straight to the head
flat on your back with a blanket of fear
to cover what's left of your naked rear
It's not the cold that hurts
but your mind breaking down your physical existence
where do you turn, but nowhere because you have been left alone
now you can write off happiness and all good to come
set fire to the feelings brought upon by the smile
and let what's left you just be as remains
of something that which was once normal
except the new you as you
but now with the strength of a million dead
your now free to throw your hands and push back
cause now death is just another chapter
of this book that will inevitably end with the rapture
