The New Holocaust Poem by Xelam Kan™

The New Holocaust

It was a morning of pale spring
that felt like a dry autumn,
when an angelic spirit(might be
a forgotten faith) came to me
(when i was lying drunk)
and sang the glory
of Chaos: wake up, it's no time
to rest my child...
the mysterious melodies
of the impending doom
approaching fast,
and the new faith
of Cannibalism shines
bright in the dark.
(Surely i see)
it haunts again, and
we're the compelling witness
of this new holocaust-
in the name of gods.
Don't you see
this poor poor wealthy world
wants to be fed
more with blood and gore...
so
it's better to burn out
all the aesthetic pleasures
and norms.
O! you can find more cheers in a graveyard
than my heart. Here I see
the young perish and the old
lingering long.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
P.S. Peshawar, Pakistan:
it happened on Dec 16,2014, at 9am, when few militants entered a school building and shot dead more than 140 young innocent children, (in the name of god,) the snaps of the incident were so terrible and tragic, everywhere there were blood and gore of the young bodies, carpeted the floor and walls of that auditorium.

Such a tragic poem, as I read the poem I can almost see the trail of blood behind it.

140. i heard about it. yes, a tragedy; another one! and i feel sorry for you and all others who are affected by it adversely. perhaps being dead is better than living in a land where such things occur and some people have to live in fear. the recent, smaller-scale, butchery in Paris is just another example of misguided persons (often 'disadvantaged' people) turning guns on others in the name of religion. the reports say that two 'victims' killed in paris were Muslim (besides the 'terrorists'; i'm not even sure they were Muslims; that's how unaware i am! i'm pretty sure they were, but it is clear that only radicalized Muslims are behind such murders) . thanks for the poet's note btw. otherwise i would wonder what the poem was about (more than i do now) . i'm still a bit lost until the last four lines and the poet's note. were you really drunk? did you write some of it during a hangover? was some of it part of a drunk dream? i didn't read about any cannibalism. and i do NOT think the (whole) world is wanting to be fed more blood and gore. ========================= you had said your poem was about a holocaust: hey if free read my new poem ' the new holocaust': this is a real one, not like Jews'. i asked what you meant by that, and i haven't seen an answer from you. do you NOT believe in the reported murder of millions of jews and others in europe during ww2? you are welcome to your opinion, if you don't believe it happened. - - - - - - - - - - - - the second definition i found of holocaust is 'new' to me: hol·o·caust ˈhäləˌkôst, ˈhōləˌkôst/ noun noun: holocaust; plural noun: holocausts 1. destruction or slaughter on a mass scale, especially caused by fire or nuclear war. a nuclear holocaust synonyms: cataclysm, disaster, catastrophe; More destruction, devastation, annihilation; massacre, slaughter, mass murder, extermination, extirpation, carnage, butchery; genocide, ethnic cleansing, pogrom fears of a nuclear holocaust the mass murder of Jews under the German Nazi regime during the period 1941–45. More than 6 million European Jews, as well as members of other persecuted groups, such as gypsies and homosexuals, were murdered at concentration camps such as Auschwitz. singular proper noun: Holocaust; noun: the Holocaust 2. historical a Jewish sacrificial offering that is burned completely on an altar. Origin Middle English: from Old French holocauste, via late Latin from Greek holokauston, from holos ‘whole’ + kaustos ‘burned’ (from kaiein ‘burn’) . - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - stay sane, my friend. bri :)
