The New Car Poem by Vera Sidhwa

The New Car

The New Car

I bought a new red car.
It was going to drive me afar.
But this red car had a mind of it's own.
It drove as it pleased near and far.

I never quite knew,
That a car could do,
Such odd and funny things.
But this car did, as if it had wings

This red car took off by itself,
Over craggy cliffs,
And sharp, huge rocks.
It knew no fear.

One day I saw it parked in a parking lot,
Just sitting there.
At least it looked like a car should look,
This car and I were a pair.
