“the Need For Can’t Have” Poem by Romesh De Silva

“the Need For Can’t Have”

You seem to be so oblivious
The simplicity of the chase continuous
'The need for can't have'
To have the need, love gone bad
Shhhh, close your eyes
Feel my lips, Goosebumps, butterflies
Hands to skin, back arching
Our eyes, our tongues sexually romancing
Chances we see, we choose not to see
No regrets, life’s a tease
Swimming in words I can't express
Drowning, writing my way out, social conquests
I have been, I have seen, lonely dreams
One night, a stand
A moment in time, a woman, a man
Two worlds apart, one simple plan
'The need for can't have'.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is one of the poems from something me and a couple of my friends call 'Poetry Standoff', Something me and a two friends did one cold night in a dirty London apartment with no heating (yes it was the middle of winter!) A title is randomly said and then we all had 3 minutes to write a poem before pens had to be down. ☺ we ended up doing 30 but this is the only ones I have. My friend chris has the rest. Hope you enjoy. These are my versions of the random topics. It was great to see the different poems that were born from different people ☺ I have uploaded a few others with this same explanation.
